ASSISTANT CHIEF BUILDING ENGINEER
The Assistant Chief Building Engineer is responsible for assisting the Chief Building Engineer and Sr. Property Manager to ensure that all building systems, equipment, and facilities are functioning safely, efficiently, and in optimal condition. This role includes HVAC operations, preventive maintenance, general repairs, inspections, and providing strong customer service to tenants, vendors and stakeholders. This position performs advanced building engineering duties while providing daily leadership, supervision, technical direction, and operational support to the engineering team and on-site vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High school diploma
8+ years of commercial building maintenance or related experience
Demonstrated advanced experience operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing commercial HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
HVAC preventive maintenance, repair, and operations experience
First Class C Boiler's License
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, fire life safety systems, and Emergency Management Systems (EMS)/Building Automated Systems (BAS) platforms (Niagra and Tridium would be preferred)
Ability to work independently and efficiently on routine assignments
Supervisory ability or experience
Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for emergencies
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Valid Driver's License and good driving record (per McGough Fleet Policy)
Working knowledge or liquid cooled chillers and cooling towers

Write correspondence and memos and perform mathematical computations.
Complete records or report information in standard format in accordance with department processes.

Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standard situations.
Good computer skills to complete work responsibilities and produce written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper English sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
