    Description

The Candidate will support the Chief Engineer in oversight and execution of Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) across serial life and new (moderate/minor) launch applications. The Candidate will serve as the single point of contact for technical and program execution, and will be responsible for the achievement of cost, timing, performance and quality/warranty targets.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for meeting or exceeding EDM program deliverables and functional objectives (i.e. cost, timing, efficiency, performance, mass, NVH, and quality).

    • Oversight of all aspects of the assigned EDM project for a given vehicle family (hardware, software, controls, calibration, packaging, prototype builds, validation, ED&D, DVPR, Statement of Work, Design Change Requests, etc).

    • Lead the Propulsion System Development Process (PSDP) for the EDM ensuring product readiness for approved launches and support the technical reviews/evaluations with respect to program targets/milestones.

    • Develop execution plans and coordinate engineering milestones to support critical mule and pilot builds (i.e. qty, MRD, design content, calibration needs, etc).

    • Responsible for ensuring program budget achievement identifying all possible efficiencies vs. approved business case.

    • Review, approve & track the EDM System DVP&R and support the development of the component DVP&Rs.

    • Co-lead proactive Risk Management tasks with the quality organization (i.e. DFMEAs, DFSS, LUR, Heat Map, Reliability Demonstration).

    • Track & lead issue resolution (GIMs, plant build and production issues).

    • Monitor quality metrics (e.g. CQI, 3MIS, 12MIS, EPUS, JD Power) for serial life EDM programs; lead root cause activities for field issues and implement containment actions to reduce warranty.

    • Support service engineering and MOPAR initiatives, review/approve service bulletins, RSUs and field action documents. Assist in developing service procedures/fault trees and resolution of service part supply issues.

    • Manage product lifecycle, including support of Supply Chain and Logistics issues to guarantee production continuity.

    • Technical Interface to Vehicle & PS Integration, AME, Purchasing, EE Core, ePT, Controls, Calibration, Quality, Suppliers and EE Systems.

    • Represent Chief organization in high level meetings as needed (Steering Committees, PRs, MRs, IH mtgs, PC-prep mtgs, VIT mtgs, etc).

    • Lead technical reviews/evaluations and technical specification sign-offs. (Design Reviews).

    • Coordination and implementation of Value Optimization (VO) activities.

    • Lead the technical responses and cost roll-ups to investigate/action bulletins that relate to the technology (i.e. piece cost, tooling, ED&D).

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics or related degree field

    • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field

    • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and issue resolution.

    • Demonstrated application of Systems Engineering and knowledge of Functional Block Diagrams, Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R)

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting complex material to various audiences

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in with emphasis in electrical power conversion, electromechanical energy conversion, power electronics, and electrical machines

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or other equivalent training

    • Demonstrated working experience in decomposing intended function into requirements inclusive of many of the following: Electric drive systems, gear train systems, powertrain integration, high voltage electronics, low voltage electronics, motor controls, communication protocols, sensors, and software

    • Working experience in creation and execution of validation plans inclusive of the following: Electric Drive Units, Electric Machines, Inverters, Auxiliary Power Modules, and On-Board Chargers

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and prepare presentations for Director/VP level leadership
