# Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Familias Unidas Niños Sanos (FUNS) project is a research program designed to improve dietary habits, physical activity, and body mass index outcomes among young Latino children through caregiver engagement, skill building, and health education.

The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator supports the Program Manager and Principal Investigator in the operational management of study activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with study implementation.
  • Ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
  • Supporting the achievement of project milestones and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and professional communication skills are essential. This role requires the ability to work independently in community or field-based settings and to build and maintain effective relationships with community partners. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with children, parents, and families.

Key Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Reliable transportation for regional travel.
  • Availability to work across communities in Los Angeles County to support recruitment, enrollment, and data collection.
  • Evening and weekend availability is required based on project needs.

This is a full-time limited appointment that may convert to career.

# Job Qualifications

### Required

  • Drivers License: Required to hold a valid California State Drivers License and have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to work efficiently and complete tasks with thoroughness and accuracy. Ability to concentrate and focus on a work environment that contains distracting stimuli and competing deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively establish rapport, build collaborative relationships, and communicate complex concepts and ideas in an easy-to-understand manner in both English and Spanish.
  • Problem Solving: Skills sufficient to solve problems, identify solutions, and the ability to respond to situations in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing job demands and priorities; work flexible hours including some weekend and evening hours to accommodate research deadlines.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential material/information with judgement and discretion.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Typing and computer skills including word-processing, use of spreadsheets, email, and data entry.
  • Ability to navigate numerous software programs and applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software (especially Excel) to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Skill in coordinating information transfer among multiple constituents.
  • Mobility: Availability to work in more than one environment, travelling to various clinic sites, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Learning Mentality: A learning and professional growth mentality so that new software tools, systems, and processes can be adopted quickly and efficiently.
  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to carry lab equipment up to 15lbs, including scales and Stadiometer.
