The Valley Middle School Assistant Coach - Cross Country is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the school's cross country program, including developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting a positive, competitive culture aligned with our Athletic Department values of integrity, accountability, commitment, and discipline. The coach assists with plans and conducts practices, oversees meet preparation and strategy, supervises assistant coaches, and ensures compliance with school and district policies/bylaws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting academic success, modeling strong character and leadership, promoting athlete safety and well-being, organizing offseason development opportunities, scheduling transportation, leading fundraising efforts, overseeing the program budget, maintaining a yearly inventory, and building positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. The Coach also assists with program promotion, player development at all levels, and the long-term growth and sustainability of the program. Previous coaching experience is encouraged but not a requirement.
