Assistant Coach, Cross Country

SUMMARY

Spring Arbor University is a member of the Crossroads League and holds national membership with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) . The following is the mission statement of the University athletic program: The Spring Arbor University Athletic Department seeks to use competitive sports to develop within our student-athletes a depth of faith, strength of character, and skills of leadership essential for a lifetime of service to Jesus Christ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Help disciple athletes in their relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Responsible for building and maintaining healthy relationships with athletes that help with the athlete's experience and retention
  • Aid the head coach in recruiting new athletes to the program
  • Train student athletes alongside the head coach during practice sessions and competitions
  • Help Oversee the Strength and Conditioning program for the program
  • Other duties as assigned

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as member of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics reporting directly to the Head Men's/Women's Cross-Country Coach.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to work with peers and students. Must be willing to maintain flexible schedule. Experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word required. Ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks & possess good interpersonal, communication and writing skills.

EXPERIENCE

Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
