Assistant Coach I, Men's Soccer
(Part-Time, Non-Benefited; On-Campus Housing Required)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Westminster's Assistant Coach I, for the men's soccer team is a part-time hourly position that reports to the Head Coach for Men's Soccer. This position includes required on-campus housing that is furnished by Westminster University as a condition of employment and for the convenience of the University. The Assistant Coach I is responsible for assisting with coaching and managing the men's soccer program, including the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, coaching during practices, games, and camps, scouting opponents, and reviewing game films. This role also includes responsibilities in student residential life to support the welfare of residential students and ensure on-call availability for student support and emergency response. Westminster University is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athletics Coaching and Administration:
Assist the head coach with the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes.
Demonstrate general knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and experience in coaching men's soccer.
Assist with coaching during practices, games, and camps.
Support scouting of opponents and review game film with the team.
Assist the head coach with administrative tasks as assigned, including:
Travel arrangements
Oversight of student-athlete academic progress
Management of team equipment
Fundraising activities
Coordination of community service
Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations.
Maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
Uphold student-athlete welfare and development within the NCAA Division II philosophy.
Promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University learning environment.
Support the academic and personal success of student-athletes.
Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards, consistent with the University's mission and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Residential Life Responsibilities (Condition of On-Campus Housing):
To fulfill the University's mission of supporting a vibrant residential experience, the Assistant Coach will also serve as a live-in campus official. These responsibilities are a condition of employment and necessary to ensure the availability of the employee for student support outside regular hours:
Note: Housing is provided as a required condition of employment. The employee must reside in the assigned on-campus housing to perform the full duties of the role. No cash alternative or housing allowance is available. Housing is located on the University's business premises, integrated with student residences.
