JOB SUMMARY

Assistant Mens Soccer Coach

  • Under the direction of the head coach, provides quality coaching and instruction to students participating in Mens Soccer program; develops, implements, and teaches related training sessions and techniques.
  • Recruit student athletes in accordance with NWAC athletic regulations, conference values, and the college's values and commitment to student success.
  • Help maintain KCC Athletic facilities that are used by the Mens Soccer program.
  • Assist in supervising student athletes on trips and onsite during all program related practices, games, and functions.
  • Work cooperatively with head coach to maintain and retain records on students, including, but not limited to, athletic eligibility budgets, recruitment, and transportation.
  • Serve as role model to assist the team members in developing and displaying appropriate attitudes and behavior expected of athletic teams and individuals representing KCC.
  • Assist head coach in providing post-season evaluation of all players.
  • Assist head coach in team-sponsored fund-raising throughout the year as approved by KCC.
  • Behave in a manner that is consistent with the NWAC codebook, including but not limited to: NWAC coaches' code of conduct, coachs standards and procedures, job responsibilities, and concussion management. Includes passing NWAC required tests.
  • Follow all KCC guidelines, administrative procedures, and policies surrounding athletics.
  • Promote KCC athletic programs in our community.
  • Maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, ability, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years of successful instruction/coaching in high school/college soccer OR four (4) years of participation in college soccer
  • Hold a valid drivers license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Two (2) years of successful instruction/coaching in high school/college soccer OR four (4) years of participation in college soccer

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Coaching under diverse weather conditions
  • Driving team to away games as needed

Supplemental Information

$6,000.00 Annual Stipend
