Summary and Purpose:

The Assistant Swim Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach with all facets of the NAIA men's women's intercollegiate swim and dive program. The position reports directly to the Head Swim Coach. Duties include but are not limited to the following: poolside coaching during practices and meets; recruiting of top-quality student-athletes; assisting with team travel, conditioning, academics, promotional (including fundraising assistance) and public relations activities; summer camps; and other duties as assigned by the head coach. This position must be in compliance with all NAIA, conference, and college rules and regulations and must display professional integrity.

Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Intercollegiate competitive experience as a swimmer

  • Successful swimming coaching experience at the collegiate level

  • Ability to recruit top-quality student-athletes at the NAIA level

  • Familiarity with Midwest recruiting areas

  • Demonstrates public relations, organizational, and communication skills

  • Strong technological skills relating to recruiting, creating meet files and lineups, using Google Drive, and camp administration

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to comply with NAIA and KCAC conference rules and regulations

  • Coaching and administrative experience with summer camps

  • Able to work full time including weekends, is able to attend all competitions

  • Coaching philosophy consistent or complimentary to that of the existing head coach

  • Performs duties as assigned

  • Able to run dryland workouts and assist with weight training workouts

Knowledge, Skills and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (waived with high level of experience)

  • Swim coaching experience of high school, club or collegiate athletes

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
