Description
This individual will be responsible for assisting in direction, coaching, recruiting, scouting, fund-raising, camps and academic monitoring. This position recruits high school and adult students to the college, selling the opportunities, benefits and advantages of a community college education at Indian Hills Community College. Conducts admission activities that are within College policies and in accordance with professional ethics established by the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC).

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Must relate well with people and have demonstrated knowledge of womens softball.
- Experience in a college admissions department is preferred.
- Experience in customer service or recruiting is preferred.
- Knowledge of software utilized in recruiting students and moving them through all stages to become enrolled including Microsoft office suite and familiarity with communication through various forms of social media.
- Ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the academic and extra-curricular offerings at IHCC.
- Ability to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with students, their parents, high school guidance counselors and teachers.
- Willingness to travel frequently during certain portions of the year.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work Performed
Assistant Softball Coach
- Adhere to college, conference, and NJCAA rules and regulations.
- Attend all games and practices as directed by the Head Coach.
- Observe players during performance to determine need for individual or team improvement.
- Coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques of the sport.
- Assist in game strategy.
- Help recruit players for the team. Includes overnight, weekend, and out-of-state travel.
- Provide academic support and guidance to student athletes.
- Aid in softball facility upkeep and maintenance.
- Create practice plans.
- Scout opposing teams as assigned.
- Assist in planning travel arrangements such as lodging and food during season play.
- Assist in fund-raising and community service activities throughout the year. Includes weeknights and weekend activities.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate youth and prospective player camps.
- Supervise strength and conditioning program.
- Assist with establishing and enforcing team standards to ensure a culture of excellence.
- Purchase and inventory team equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Admissions Representative
- Have the ability to work with prospective students in navigating all steps of the admissions process from inquiry, application completion, program selection, placement testing, financial aid awareness, and orientation.
- Assist students with information about the transition to college. Have the ability to give general advice on college life, academic programs, student activities and organizations, and student life.
- Conduct campus tours, individual appointments, and group information sessions for prospective students and families
- Participate ingroup visits, IHCC admission events, and fairs or territories as needed.
- Conduct virtual meetings with prospective students via Zoom and respond to inquiries by phone, email, and text in a timely manner
- Prepares written reports and completes office activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records and continuous follow up of prospective student contacts and recruitment activity using the colleges CRM system
- Represent the college in a positive manner.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work
- Other duties as assigned.
