Job Description:
This position reports to the Head Women's Tennis Coach and carries responsibility for all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women's tennis program. In this role, supporting and assisting the tennis team in all areas is key to developing a competitive and successful program in support of the College's scholar-athlete approach to collegiate athletics.

Schedule & Classification: This is a part-time, temporary position running from August 2026 through May 2027, with a variable schedule based on the athletic season for a total of 746 hours. Work hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. The weekly schedule will be determined by the supervisor. Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of training, hitting sessions, home and away matches, goal setting, and other individual player development needs.
- Collaborate with strength and conditioning and athletic training to prepare scholar-athlete for peak performance.
- Provide coaching during matches.
- Support scholar athletes in their pursuit of balancing their academic and athletic priorities.
- Assist in all areas of recruiting qualified scholar athletes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Collegiate playing experience and/or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality.
- An appreciation and understanding of the role athletics play in a rigorous academic setting is essential.
- Team-oriented with a positive, collaborative approach and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive culture within the program, athletic department, and broader campus community.
- Demonstrates emotional maturity and serves as a positive role model for student athletes.
- Experience interacting effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate tennis skills during practice and training sessions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform other movements associated with coaching tennis.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 10 pounds or more.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions.
Additional Requirements
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of successful background checks.
- Part-Time, non-benefit position
