Description
Concordia University Irvine is seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven, and growth-minded individual to serve as a full-time Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position reports directly to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and plays a vital role in the continued growth and success of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
Coaching & Player Development Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of daily practices and game preparation.
Provide high-level skill instruction in both individual and team settings.
Teach offensive and defensive concepts while emphasizing basketball IQ, communication, and decision-making.
Assist with game management, scouting, opponent preparation, and film breakdown.
Invest in the holistic development of student-athletes, including their athletic, academic, personal, and leadership growth.
Foster an environment that promotes accountability, resilience, competitive excellence, and joy.
Recruiting
Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with the program's competitive and cultural standards.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with recruits, families, high school and club coaches.
Attend recruiting events and evaluate prospects in accordance with NCAA regulations.
Manage recruiting communication through phone calls, email, text messaging, and recruiting software.
Maintain NCAA recruiting certification and adhere to all NCAA, PacWest Conference, and institutional policies.
Program Administration
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball program.
Coordinate facility scheduling through CourseDog for practices, games, team meetings, study hall, and other program functions.
Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes in collaboration with faculty and academic support staff.
Assist with travel preparation, equipment management, camps, community engagement, fundraising initiatives, and special events.
Supervise and mentor graduate assistants, student managers, and other support staff.
Perform additional administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach.
