Assistant Construction Project Manager

Stella Construction & Home Services is a general contracting company based just north of Boston specializing in residential renovations, custom additions, and restoration projects. We focus on quality workmanship, clear communication, and a professional client experience.

We are seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support our Project Managers with both field operations and project coordination.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with construction experience who wants to develop their project management skills and take on increasing responsibility. The position provides exposure to residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion.

Position Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager throughout all phases of residential construction projects.
• Monitor job site progress and complete field reports and project documentation.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites.
• Assist with project scheduling, material coordination, and tracking.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to support project workflow.
• Assist with budget tracking, change orders, and invoicing.
• Participate in client meetings and help maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders.
• Help verify that completed work is consistent with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Communicate project updates, issues, and follow-up items to the Project Manager.
• Assist with general project administration and documentation as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of construction experience; residential construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and project documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a construction environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other team members.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Buildertrend, Procore, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred, but not required.

• Pay: $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Growth Opportunity

This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in both construction field operations and project management.

The Assistant Construction Project Manager will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibility over time, with potential progression toward a Project Manager role.
