We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Construction Superintendent to join our growing team in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will assist the Superintendent in managing all field operations for high-end Class-A commercial interior fit-outs, including corporate offices, law firms, financial institutions, technology companies, and other premium workspace environments.

Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Assist the Superintendent in coordinating and supervising all on-site construction activities.
- Monitor daily progress of subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
- Help maintain project schedules and identify potential delays before they impact milestones.
- Conduct daily site walks and document project progress.
- Coordinate deliveries, material staging, and site logistics within occupied and urban environments.
Safety Management
- Support implementation and enforcement of site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Participate in toolbox talks and subcontractor safety meetings.
- Report and document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
Quality Control
- Assist with quality assurance inspections throughout all phases of construction.
- Review installed work to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and client expectations.
- Help manage punch list development and completion.
- Ensure high-end finishes and workmanship meet Class-A commercial standards.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, landlords, building management teams, and clients.
- Attend project meetings and provide field updates.
- Assist in resolving day-to-day construction challenges and coordination issues.
- Maintain daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
- Support inspections by building departments, consultants, and ownership representatives.
Project Closeout
- Assist with project turnover activities, final inspections, and occupancy requirements.
- Coordinate punch list completion with subcontractors.
- Organize closeout documentation, warranties, and as-built information.
- Help ensure projects are delivered on time and to client satisfaction.
Profile
Qualifications
Required
- 2-5 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial interior construction.
- Experience working on tenant fit-outs, office renovations, or commercial interiors projects.
- Understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems.
- Working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.
- OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Experience working in New York City commercial buildings.
- Familiarity with occupied renovations and landlord construction requirements.
- Knowledge of Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Local Law and DOB project experience.
