Assistant Controller
Location: On-site, Berks County, PA
Schedule: In-office, 5 days per week
Compensation: $125,000–$130,000 base salary + annual bonus

About the Opportunity:

A privately held, growing manufacturing company backed by a global parent organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This role will be highly visible and hands-on, supporting day-to-day financial operations while helping modernize processes and systems as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Controller in overseeing all accounting and financial operations, including month-end and year-end close, AR/AP, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to a foreign parent company
  • Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statements
  • Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, projections, and ad hoc analyses for senior leadership
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning activities
  • Supervise and develop an accounting team of three reports
  • Maintain oversight of payroll-related functions, including benefits, 401(k), and insurance coordination
  • Partner with department leaders to support sound financial decision-making and resource allocation
  • Identify and implement process improvements and financial best practices
  • Play a key role in ERP modernization and automation initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Proven people leadership and team development experience
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively across time zones
  • Comfort working in a more manual accounting environment while helping drive future automation
  • Manufacturing or similar industry experience is a plus (cost accounting not required)
  • ERP experience preferred (legacy systems, NetSuite, or similar); experience with system implementations is a plus
