Description
The Assistant Controller will perform a variety of accounting functions supporting the Controller, Sr. VP of Finance, and the Accounting Department as a whole. These duties require a considerable level of professional judgment and analytical ability.
Salary range: $95,000 - $150,000 DOE

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements in a multi-company environment.
- Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including maintaining the monthly closing calendar, account analysis and reconciliation.
- Monitor balance sheet review, account reconciliations and variances between current year and prior year results.
- Provide recommendations for proper accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with GAAP.
- Supervise members of the accounting team.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team to promote career development.
- Review, approve and post journal entries.
- Participate in the new ERP implementation.
- Assist in year-end closing and interaction with outside auditors & tax preparers.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets for corporate items with the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
- Work with shared service partner on issues related to financial statements and other requests.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- A minimum of seven to 10 years of accounting experience.
- Industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Significant experience with GAAP.
- Working knowledge of Great Plains (preferred).
- Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Good oral and written communications skills, detail orientation and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to occasionally travel as required.
