Job DetailsOur client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Controller to provide onsite support for the financial operations of a multi-entity organization. Working closely with senior finance leadership, this position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to expand their accounting expertise within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable (AP) functions across multiple entities.
- Support accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of sales tax reports to ensure compliance with applicable regulations with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other financial reporting tools to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Assist with developing and improving financial reporting processes and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support broader financial operations.
- Provide onsite accounting support, document control, and transactional oversight at the local facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and financial reporting systems is preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.
- Experience with sales tax reporting and compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
