Position: Assistant Controller

Location: Sarasota, FL

Compensation: $120K-$140K + 10% bonus

Hybrid Schedule: 1 day work from home

This is an excellent growth opportunity for an accounting professional with construction, project accounting or land development experience who enjoys owning the accounting process while providing financial insight to the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage team and accounting operations including month-end close, bank and balance reconciliations
• Prepare, analyze and submit financial statements and reports to Corporate Execs
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Perform cost analysis and monitor project/development costs
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Partner with leadership to research and support business decisions
• Perform cash flow management leading forecast and planning
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure budget and timeline

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong Construction accounting experience is required with ability to manage project budgets
• Excellent leadership, problem solving and multi priority management skills
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and cost accounting skills to include month/quarter/year end close and reconciliations
• Outstanding organizational, communication and reasoning skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency; Proficiency in ERP Accounting Software, Yardi is a plus, but not required
