The Luxemburg-Casco School District is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach for the 2026-27 season.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the High School Athletic Director and Head Coach, the High School Assistant Coach supports and contributes to an education-based, competitive program aligned with the Spartan Athletics Purpose: to inspire, educate, and promote personal growth in student-athletes through the core values of accountability, commitment, discipline, integrity, leadership, respect, family, and passion.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Growth of Athletes: develop student-athletes through positive coaching, skill instruction, and structured practices
Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork where all athletes feel valued
Demonstrate passion, preparation, and commitment to program growth, including youth development
Maintain professionalism, model sportsmanship, and build strong relationships with athletes, staff, and families
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administration, and coaching staff
Organize practices, teach skills, and apply strategy during competition
Supervise athletes, manage equipment, and complete all administrative duties in a timely manner
Engage in professional development and continuously work to improve the program
Demonstrates strong knowledge of the sport, including skills, strategies, and rules, and effectively applies that knowledge in practices and competition.
Perform duties as assigned by the Head Coach to support the success and operation of the program
Qualifications for Employment
Required:
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (provided by district)
Completion of all district-required trainings
Complete all WIAA and conference/association requirements
Complete a background check in accordance with district policy
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with high school-aged students
Preferred:
Previous coaching experience (head or assistant level)
Knowledge of sport-specific skills, strategies, and training methods
Prior participation in the sport at the high school or collegiate level
