Overview The RHS Assistant Dean of Student Engagement & Culture is responsible for supporting the Dean in the oversight of RHS' performance and success. The Assistant Dean will work as a member of the RHS Leadership Team to support overall school functioning, including supporting the school's mission, promotion, and external partnership development and management . The Assistant Dean also serves as a liaison between internal and external program related needs.
The Assistant Dean of Student Engagement & Culture is an administrative, individual contract, 200 day position.
Job Responsibilites
Assist students in resolving interpersonal problems and conflicts and improve school and class behavior that enables students'' success in school
Resolves student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner and maintains records of disciplinary or referral actions taken
Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules affecting student behavior, including PBIS expectations
Monitoring behavioral pull-out and in-school/out-of-school suspensions
Maintain constant contact with teachers regarding discipline infractions and consequences assigned
Holds disciplinary hearings with parents/guardians as necessary
Responds to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters
Collaborates with other administrators to attend after-school meetings and events
Assumes responsibility when the Dean is out of the building
Manages after-school detention as needed
Being highly present and visible during school hours. Proactively circulates throughout classrooms and hallways during the day to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture
Models the school's values and the standard for professional behavior.
13.Co-leads the work of the Student Engagement Team. Facilitates the development of Success Plans, Safety Plans for students in collaboration with the Dean, staff and families.
Ensure that schoolwide operations such as entry/dismissal, lunch are smooth
Serves as a member of the Attendance Team, meets with parents and conducts home visits when necessary as related to attendance.
Work with administration and PBIS team to develop school wide restorative practice; facilitate restorative conferences/circles as needed.
Educate staff members on Restorative Practices, its context and usage.
Collaborate with staff, P.T.O., and/or external organizations to plan schoolwide student engagement events
