Position Title Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Admission Position Number 896672 Position Category Administration School/Division Enrollment Management Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description

Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Assistant Dean handles all aspects of admissions and recruiting for Undergraduate Admission in the Office of Enrollment Management. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. Additional hours required in the evenings and weekends in support of special projects, travel, and events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Travels domestically and internationally to visit high schools and attend college day/night programs.
  • Conducts interviews with prospective students.
  • Reviews applications to provide admission recommendations.
  • Maintains relationships with guidance counselors and professional organizations.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to off campus events.
  • Minimum of 1 year admission experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with computerized admissions and financial aid system such as Ellucian Banner and Slate preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Salary/Salary Range $66,300

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
