Your goal is to assist in designing the product line, preparing sketches and assist with basic specifications of the product. You will work actively on the development of collaboration capsules and partner collections across Adult and Kids, ensuring each story feels new, culturally relevant, and true to our brand DNA. Must lean into risk taking, be customer curious, and have a strong point of view on what's next in collaborations.

What you'll do

  • Assemble and maintain presentation boards for internal and external meetings, including Miro

and CADs.

  • Assist Designers in weekly fittings working closely with the PD and Tech teams to ensure all

styles are to the highest standard.

  • Research global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques,

product categories and competitive inspiration-with strong emphasis on the collaborations

landscape and cultural "heat".

  • Maintain strong knowledge of market competitors and current hot collaborations; translate

insights into actionable concepts and opportunities.

  • Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Production, Technical

design, Gap Inc Sourcing (GIS), and Marketing to ensure product concept to store and site

execution is a seamless customer experience.

  • Partner with Production and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit

and product design, ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved.

  • Assist Designers in assembling and maintaining presentation boards for internal and external

meetings, including Miro and CADs.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design.
  • 1-3 years design experience.
  • Past Collaborations and Licensing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to

juggle multiple projects at one time and track development deadlines across multiple partner

workstreams (Adult and Kids).

  • Possess an elevated taste level and deep understanding of how to translate trends and cultural

moments through the lens of the customer and brand filter.

  • Ability to spot emerging opportunities early and build a compelling case for "the next cool"

potential collab.

  • Strong collaboration mindset and comfort interfacing directly with internal cross functional teams

with the ability to build relationships and drive alignment.

  • Thorough knowledge and focus on silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing

techniques, and trims.

  • Proficiency Adobe Suite, Miro and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in Centric and CLO is a plus.
  • Evaluate sometimes complex situations using multiple sources of information (internal and

external sources), including customer insights, trend research, cultural signals, and performance

learnings.

About the Company

T

The Gap Inc

Doris and Don Fisher opened the first Gap store in 1969 with a simple idea -- to make it easier to find a pair of jeans and a commitment to do more. Over the last 46 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with five brands -- Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix. Gap's clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through 3,300 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing. Many companies work to improve their services and businesses every day by using GAP Testers who anonymously go into various places and report back to the companies on everything from cleanliness, customer service to quality control. Being a tester is a very flexible, fun job with lots of benefits.
