Position Summary
Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located in Downingtown, is looking for a dynamic Assistant Director of Admissions (Chester County) to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.
The Assistant Director of Admissions (Chester County) position at Delaware County Community College is a vital role focused on the recruitment of prospective students. This position requires the Assistant Director to actively engage with students, families and high schools both within the office and in various external settings. The primary responsibility is to represent the college effectively, disseminating crucial information regarding admissions processes, financial aid options, and academic opportunities available at the institution. The performance of the Assistant Director directly influences new student enrollment levels, which in turn impacts the financial health of the college. A successful execution of this role enhances not only enrollment figures but also the overall reputation of Delaware County Community College. The Assistant Director will undertake frequent recruitment trips to Chester County (as well as other counties including, but not limited to, Delaware County), which includes visiting high schools and organizations, attending college fairs as well as community events and other outreach initiatives. This travel is essential for territory management and involves maintaining contact and engaging with prospective students, families, high schools and community partners.
The Assistant Director will support the Office of Admissions by assisting with student communications, both in-office and during travel. The role also includes evaluating recruitment visits, documenting findings, and providing feedback to leadership to improve recruitment strategies. While most of the work will occur outside the office, the Assistant Director may also be tasked with various responsibilities related to other recruitment cycle and territory management on campus. These tasks may include coordinating Instant Decision Days, assistance with on-and-off-site recruitment receptions, as well as supporting application completion campaigns. The Assistant Director will also integrate territory management functions into the CRM, ensuring a streamlined recruitment process.
The Assistant Director must be an engaging, effective, innovative, and dynamic collaborator who will demonstrate knowledge of strategies, theories, and best practices associated with recruitment and admissions.
They will also possess strong attention to detail and the ability to independently manage frequent travel. Flexibility to adapt to changing travel assignments is necessary. Availability to work frequent nights and weekends is required, especially during peak seasons. While this position will include frequent local travel, office hours may be required at any of the branch locations.

The Assistant Director of Admission will also actively participate in creating an environment that encourages models, embraces, and incorporates diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive atmosphere and drive results.
Experience & Education
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1+ years of prior college admissions experience especially in the areas of international admissions and/or diversity recruitment. Educational requirements include: a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in higher education in a related field of study is required. Masters' degree is preferred.
