OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

Provides direct clinical services. Works closely with the Director of Behavioral Health to assist with the direction, coordination and administration of the activities of the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Department. Assists in the oversight of clinical treatment for patients referred to the BHS, including planning, developing, and implementing of social work and mental health services with attention to patient, community, and Health Center needs, staffing, and operational efficiency. Assures that good standards of practice are met, in accordance with local (LCHC) and national guidelines (including HRSA, JCAHO and DHHS MHDDSAS).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Considerable knowledge of human behavior including the impact of psychosocial stressors on behavior and well-defined diagnostic skills and knowledge of the standard modalities of treatment of psychosocial, psychological, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders. Ability to coordinate and supervise the work of others. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels.

Ability to prepare reports in a professional manner and present same before group, or to serve as a facilitator or trainer for group experiences for patients, staff, and the public. Excellent writing and organizational skills to assist administrators in formulating policies and procedures and seek funding through grantsmanship. Full knowledge of legislative guidelines governing the delivery of mental health and social services.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Addictions Specialist; CCS preferred but can be obtained during employment.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of experience in which at least one (1) year has been in a clinical setting (hospital or ambulatory health care facility). Experience with administrative, supervisory or consultant responsibility preferred.
