About this role:The USGA's Championship Administration team is responsible for the in-house preparation and administration of USGA championships, including entries, exemptions, qualifying and equipment. The Assistant Director, Championship Administration will manage the in-house administration of the U.S. Senior Women's Open Championship and U.S. Adaptive Open Championship, which includes entries, exemptions, and qualifying. This position will build strategic relationships with Allied Golf Associations conducting qualifying. This teammate will also support the key Championship Administration functions including the Qualifying Modernization project, Exemption Events, and Championship equipment. This position will also assist in the conduct of other USGA championships and special projects as assigned and needed.What you'll do:Manage the in-house administration of the U.S. Senior Women's Open and U.S. Adaptive Open Championships, including oversight of the entry, exemption and qualifying process:

Annual Qualifying Site and Exemption ReviewApplication and Exemption Preparation and AdministrationCorrespondence to Players, Officials and Allied Golf AssociationsAllocation of Places and Management of Alternate ProcessDevelopment of relationships with organizational partners

Contribute to the strategic partnership between Championship Administration and the Allied Golf Associations conducting qualifying:

Be present on AGA Monthly CallsAttend annual IAGA Conference each year as well as IAGA Regional Conferences throughout the yearAttend and support several USGA qualifiers each yearBuild effective, working relationships with the AGA staff that support 650 qualifiers each year

Lead and support day-to-day operation of the Championship Administration team, including managing two direct reports, to ensure the conduct of exemplary USGA championships and qualifying:

Effective management and oversight of direct reports to ensure fulfillment of their objectives and responsibilitiesContinue to build on the momentum and research towards Qualifying ModernizationSupport and progress the successful execution of USGA Exemption EventsOversight of the USGA Championship Inside-the-Ropes equipment effortsDepartment Policies and Procedures documentationTraining and mentoring of new team membersFoster continued learning and skill development

Support USGA Championship Administration team's customer service efforts by responding to proportionate number of tickets related to entry process, qualifying withdrawing, etc.Support Senior Director, Championship Administration with other projects as assigned. Assist in the conduct of other USGA Championships as assigned.What you'll bring:

Minimum BS/BA degree or higher from an accredited institution with 6-10 years of relevant experienceDemonstrated ability in golf tournament administration at the national, state, or regional level is strongly preferredMust be knowledgeable in the Rules of GolfUnquestioned character and integrityAbility to problem solve, think creatively, evaluate an operation & identify potential issues/solutionsMust be very personable and able to manage relationships with a variety of key stakeholdersExceptional leadership, communication and managerial skillsAbility to manage and delegate, ensure task completion, and provide atmosphere to learn and growStrong written skillsAnticipated travel - approximately 30-40 days per year

Level: Assistant DirectorJob Location: Liberty Corner, NJSalary Range: $100,000 - $110,000The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications.
