Role
Yavapai County Community Health Services is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and results-driven Assistant Director for the Community Health Center of Yavapai (CHCY). This pivotal role involves supporting both the leadership and day-to-day operations of our community health center, offering a significant opportunity to ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible, and patient-centered care for individuals and families throughout our community.
The Assistant Director - CHCY collaborates closely with the Director and leadership team to enhance clinical and operational performance, foster staff development, improve patient experience, and further the mission of the health center.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and demonstratable clinical expertise.
Major Duties, Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction to Clinical Services and the Community Health Center of Yavapai (CHCY) by overseeing general operations and programs of the community health center. Collaborates with County departments when applicable to ensure optimal services are provided to patients.
- Conducts needs assessments on a routine basis and as situations indicate; maintains and researches funding source data to enable CHCY to provide optimal resources to the residents of Yavapai County; coordinates efforts with the Director to pursue appropriate funding/grant opportunities and to monitor grants.
- Coordinates efforts with the Director to develop and implement goals and action steps in the Departments Strategic Plan.
- Assists with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Contributes to policy development and implementation.
- Works closely with compliance manager to ensure appropriate staff trainings and completion of incident reports, complaints, and near misses.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, or related field.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare administration.
An equivalent combination of directly related work experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona drivers license.
Must possess a current fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- State and Federal funding processes, federal regulations, HIPAA, budgeting, practice based risk management/malpractice, current third-party reimbursement practices, and insurance contracting.
- Health Care Administration, particularly Federally Qualified Health Centers.
- Electronic health record systems.
- Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
- Clerical office practices and procedures
- Research techniques and report writing.
- Current Microsoft Office software
- Patient Centered Medical Home Programs. Filing and recordkeeping.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
- Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.

Work Environment:
The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
