    Position Information

    The Assistant Director of Creative Content is a significant part in the storytelling of NDSU Athletics. This position plays an integral role in creating video & photo content that is used for recruiting, fan engagement, and promotion of the Athletic Department. Men's Basketball will be primary sport with creative control. Support of other sports as assigned. Duties include but no limited to:

    • Responsible for production of Athletic video and creative content including composing and framing each shot and utilizing various technical aspects such as filters, camera settings and after effects.

    • Shoot video footage of athletes in action at live sporting events.

    • Editing and creation of feature stories, highlights, social media content and motion graphics

    • Travel to occasional road events in various sports including conference and national tournaments.

    • Use graphics, logos and fonts in accordance with the athletic department's graphic standards manual.

    • Provide video to local media to help promote Bison Athletics when necessary.

    • Serve as the primary video contact for Men's Basketball and other assigned sports in developing and executing daily and weekly creative content projects.

    • Develop a coverage plan to fit schedules, workload, and timely delivery of coach's needs.

    • Manage requests to protect work-load of immediate creative content staff.

    • Participate in conceptualizing and collaborating with departmental units and coaching staffs on developing content that accurately portrays the student athlete and team while using creativity to produce unique and original video content.

    • Utilize current and evolving trends and technology

    • Effectively communicate with coaches and athletic department staff

    • Creative thought and ability to independently create original video content

    • Assist in creative video logging, tagging and storage for efficient future use.

    • Maintain an organized storage system to archive video for historical purposes.

    Hiring Range:

    Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • B.S. or B.A. in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Television Production or Broadcasting.
    • Experience in collegiate athletics videography, video editing, and generation of team content.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with sports photography, preferably in a variety of sports.
    • Experience covering NCAA Tournament or NCAA Championship events & working within NCAA guidelines and structures

    Core Competencies:

    • Non-linear video editing, sports videography, video production, broad knowledge of sport.

    • Knowledge of cameras, audio and video editing software and equipment, desktop publishing software, word processing, leadership skills, oral and written communication skills.
