Major/Essential Functions
Reporting to the AVP for Financial Aid and Scholarships, this position will provide operational and data support to the Financial Aid team by coordinating with EM IT to manage Banner student financial aid information. This position serves as the primary liaison between Financial Aid and Scholarships, EM Information Technology, and external agencies, and is instrumental in aligning system capabilities with institutional enrollment and student success goals, serving as a functional and technical support for SFAS.
- Serve as a key support resource for the Financial Aid Systems team by assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of financial aid systems (Banner) and related processes.
- Translate federal and state regulations into system configurations and business processes.
- Serve as the primary functional lead and primary liaison to EM IT for Banner in the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, including setup, configuration, rule tables, population selection, and job submission.
- Support annual rollover activities, new aid year setup, and ongoing Banner maintenance.
- Partner with EM IT and functional offices to manage Banner upgrades, patches, testing, and implementations.
- Troubleshoot Banner processing issues, analyze errors, and implement corrective solutions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through Banner functionality and improved automation
- Lead testing and validation of new processes, regulatory updates, and system enhancements prior to production release.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Train financial aid and scholarship end users on Banner functionality to improve productivity.
