Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Associate Director of Prevention and Recovery Support, the primary purpose of this position is to assist students in navigating recovery support efforts on campus through programming, case management and outreach. This role serves and supports students of the Charlotte Recovery Program and the Charlotte campus with a wide range of recovery support, including but not limited to, group facilitation, workshops, and other activities that build recovery community, connections and a sense of belonging. Serving in the capacity of adjunct staff in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), this position will also provide a percentage of clinical services to UNC Charlotte student members of the CRP and other students referred for assistance with substance use concerns.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
Principal responsibilities include coordinating recovery support activities for students involved with the Charlotte Recovery Program; providing substance use counseling to students; delivering education to the campus community on substance use disorders, recovery, and the Charlotte Recovery Program as a resource for students; assisting as directed to advance the goals and objectives of the program.
Minimum Education/Experience
Master's degree in higher education, counseling, social work, public health, or related discipline.

Preferred Certifications/Licenses
Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS or Associate), Certified Peer Support Specialist, Recovery Coach certification, or related credential.
