    Job Description

    Provides leadership and management for student leadership organizations within the residence halls, develops and promotes academic initiatives within the residence halls, strengthens and implements the residential curriculum, and leads assessment efforts for the Department of Housing and Residence Life. Reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life, this position engages in critical analysis of student and program needs to resolve substantial issues which may span multiple areas, using advanced technical and professional knowledge.

    • Master's Degree with 2 years of full-time experience working in student affairs.

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Master's Degree with 3 years of full-time experience working in student affairs.
    • Experience supervising staff.
    • Experience working with residentially based curriculums and academic initiatives.
    • Assessment experience.
    • Knowledge of student development theory and current trends/best practices for positively engaging students within a residential curriculum.
    • Knowledge and experience working with living and learning communities, retention efforts, academic initiatives, assessment efforts, and training programs.
    • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to manage a complex business operation in a dispersed employee environment utilizing best practices, following university standards, and national standards.
    • Strong administrative and communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks; and an ability to work within a collaborative environment and with diverse populations.
    • Knowledge and experience working with databases such as SPSS; possess extensive knowledge of data gathering, analysis and interpretation, preferably related to trends and issues in higher education.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and apply principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals.
    • Strong administrative skills with an emphasis on student and young professional staff development.
    • Budgetary experience.
