Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Director - Hotel Operations Group Services is to oversee, develop and execute the long-term vision of the Group Services Department, in accordance with Hotel standards.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the Operational, Financial and Service Goals are established and achieved.
- Directing, implementing and maintaining service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to team members.
- Providing day-to-day leadership and effective long-term strategic planning including goal setting, identifying areas of focus & progress follow through.
- Oversees the development and implementation of policies, procedures in the Group Services Department.
- Ensure that all implemented processes, policies and procedures are maintained and utilized at all times.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Hotel Operations department policies/service procedures/standards.
- Support, develop, coach and assist the Group Services Team Members, with the authority to hire, recommend Team Members for release, issue discipline and reviews.
- Continually provide Team Members positive and constructive feedback on their performance. Sets goals and priorities and follows up on progress.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire Team Members to provide unmatched guest service as outlined in Forbes 4-5 Star standards.
- Create and maintain a work environment that fosters and promotes teamwork, continuous improvement and recognition while remaining compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Effectively participates in the Budget & CapEx process for the hotel to ensure it is complete, accurate, justifiable and accepted with reasonable levels of revision.
- Constantly seeks to improve quality; develop and maintain ongoing training initiatives, ensure optimum performance by recommending and implementing techniques to improve productivity, increase effectiveness and cut/avoid dispensable costs.
- Resolve escalated guest complaints, while maintaining positive guest relations and guest satisfaction at all times.
- Implement systems to obtain ongoing guest feedback.
- Promote interdepartmental communication focused on a combined effort to provide seamless & impeccable service, identify opportunities for process improvement & partnership.
- Ensure all measurements of success are utilized to reevaluate processes, procedures and goals as necessary.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5 years of luxury hotel experience in a senior management position.
- Must have prior experience managing a workforce.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully being proactive in responding to changing market factors. Must have exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership capabilities and charisma skills to influence, inspire, and motivate key stakeholders and employees around a single vision.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to
