Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is assistance with all academic and administrative functions of the Nurse Anesthesia (NA) Program Director, including oversight of the clinical curriculum, contracts and student assignments.

The Assistant Director reports to the NA Program Director and performs the Program Director''s duties in their absence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist the Program Director to ensure initial and ongoing compliance with the accreditation standards of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). Provide assistance with the administrative responsibilities of the program and assumes the NA Program Director role in their absence. Coordination and oversight of the clinical curriculum, including learner assignments, learner experience logs, and clinical evaluations. Provide instruction in core nurse anesthesia course content. Develop content for the simulation curriculum that includes low and high-fidelity simulation for student clinical site preparation, evaluation of competency-based learning and student remediation. Work collaboratively with the Program Director and Student Success Center coordinator to provide counseling and assessment of remediation needs of learners. Coordination of research and evidence-based practice activities for learners and CRNA faculty, including the DNP scholarly project, and supports student publication and dissemination of research in scholarly journals and professional forums. Serves on the NA Program Curriculum Committee and provides leadership in curriculum development, assessment, and revision to meet COA and CCNE curriculum and learner outcome standards. Serves on the Nurse Anesthesia Program Admission Committee; participates in review and selection of candidates for admission.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
