Provides leadership for the development, implementation, and oversight of nutrition policies, practices that support nutritional well-being and dietary accommodations. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and promotes evidence-based nutrition standards throughout all operations.
Major Duties
- Oversees all nutrition and dietetics functions, including policy development, regulatory compliance, and implementation of best practices aligned with federal and industry guidelines. Establishes departmental goals, policies, and procedures related to nutrition, food safety, and specialized dietary requirements.
- Directs dietary accommodation processes for current and prospective students with specialized needs, including planning, implementation, and communication.
- Serves as a key liaison in supporting recruitment events, campus visits, and yield programs while communicating accommodation processes, menu transparency, and meal plan flexibility to prospective students and families.
- Leads organization-wide training and development for management, staff, and student employees, including food safety, dietary accommodations, regulatory compliance, and onboarding. Evaluates effectiveness and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Supervises and mentors dietetic interns each semester, providing structured learning experiences aligned with academic requirements. Develops and leads a team of student ambassadors who support nutrition education, peer engagement, and wellness initiatives.
- Promotes evidence-based nutrition practices that support the wellness of a diverse student population and collaborates across departments to integrate nutrition initiatives into strategies.
- Performs relief supervision of dining operations as needed, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and established policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Progressive leadership responsibility in a foodservice or culinary related organization.
- Demonstrated high quality written and oral communications skills.
- Proven ability to develop and present engaging presentation to audience.
- Ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to demonstrates advanced customer service skills.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential in good standing through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); candidates who became eligible for RDN registration on or after January 1, 2024, must possess a master's degree in accordance with CDR requirements, while candidates who established eligibility for and passed the Registered Dietitian examination prior to January 1, 2024, are considered qualified without a master's degree.

Physical requirements and working conditions
- Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
- Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids, must comply with Universal Precautions.
