SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Academic Services provides strategic leadership, coordination and administrative oversight for learning programs and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures appropriate educational opportunities for all students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including coordination of state and federal grant applications.
Provide administrative oversight, coordination, and supervision for specialized programs including, but not limited to: MTSS Intervention, ADSIS, Gifted & Talented, English Learner (EL), Indian Education, Nonpublic Schools, Targeted Services and Federal Grants.
Prepare the necessary information for the completion of local, state, and federal reports as assigned.
Remain up to date with trends and developments in instruction, policy, and other legal educational issues.
Support the strategic planning, development, and implementation of curriculum content to enhance student achievement and ensure alignment with state standards.
Coordinate and facilitate district-wide professional development opportunities within academic services.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
Elementary or Secondary teaching experience.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations (e.g., At-Risk, Gifted & Talented, EL, and Intervention groups).
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of grant writing and federal/state compliance monitoring.
Deep understanding of Indian Education, environmental education, and E-STEM-related instruction.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Supervisory and managerial skills.
Provide leadership for teaching staff
