Job Description

The Assistant Director of Custodial Services supports the Director in managing day-to-day custodial operations across educational facilities. This leadership role helps ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained environments by supervising custodial supervisors and frontline staff, maintaining quality standards, managing supply inventories, and supporting staff development and performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily custodial operations and assign team members to specific areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure proper shift coverage and service delivery across campus facilities.

  • Perform routine facility inspections and maintain quality control programs.

  • Document deficiencies, track follow-up actions, and support performance improvement.

  • Monitor supply inventory and submit daily requisitions to purchasing by deadline.

  • Ensure equipment and supply rooms are properly organized and restocked.

  • Coach, train, and support team members in performance, safety, and service standards.

  • Identify team members needing additional training and escalate to the Director.

  • Assist with supervisor job evaluations and performance documentation.

  • Complete payroll records accurately and on schedule.

  • Support special projects and perform duties assigned by the Director.

  • Comply with all HHS policies, procedures, and required training.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software

  • Must be willing to relocate for promotion opportunities 

Not Required But a Big Plus

  • Experience managing a team

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment

  • Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
