The Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations supports the Director in overseeing facilities, clinical equipment, and operational logistics for the Dental School, which include University’s work order system (Computer Aided Maintenance Management System (CAMMS) and ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders. This role ensures that buildings, clinics, and equipment are safe, functional, and efficiently managed, while providing leadership to internal teams and continuity of operations in the Director’s absence. Additional support includes assisting the Director in regular “rounds” of School of Dental Medicine buildings to assess facility conditions, identify maintenance or safety concerns, and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory (DPH) standards.
This position manages the Dental Repair team with 3-4 direct reports and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all clinical equipment including but not limited to sterilization, dental chairs, Xray heads, and digital dentistry technology. Provide leadership by developing solutions and corrective actions as needed for the team's daily business operations. Assess and implement any training and development needs for the team.
In this role you would be managing ongoing operational requests from faculty and staff related to daily facilities and space needs. Attending regular check-in meetings with departments to provide guidance, address ongoing concerns, and proactively resolve facilities-related issues are additional responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree is required, 3-5 years of relevant experience. Applicants with a vocational degree may be considered.
