    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Field Operations is the primary operational leader for Care2U's new Maryland market, launching January 1, 2027 in the Greater Baltimore area. This role is responsible for standing up and running the day-to-day operations of a Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) agency, providing direct oversight of Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Logistics Technicians, and Dispatchers. As a licensed Maryland Paramedic with a strong background in EMS and MIH leadership, this individual will serve as the operational backbone of the Maryland launch — building teams, establishing workflows, and ensuring Care2U's high-acuity, home-based care model is delivered safely, consistently, and in full compliance with Maryland State EMS regulations.

This position begins in an hourly capacity from August through December 2026 to lead pre-launch build-out, hiring, training, and readiness activities, transitioning to a salaried role effective January 1, 2027 upon go-live of daily operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operational Leadership

    • Serves as the main operational point of contact for Care2U's Maryland market, accountable for day-to-day performance of the Greater Baltimore agency.

    • Oversees daily deployment and field resource management to ensure efficient patient coverage across the service area.

    • Builds and leads a high-performing team from the ground up, including hiring, onboarding, and training Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, PAs, Logistics Technicians, and Dispatchers.

    • Develops and implements operational policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with Care2U's clinical model and Maryland regulatory requirements.

    • Monitors operational performance metrics (response times, encounter cycle times, productivity, and patient throughput) and drives continuous improvement.

    • Acts quickly and decisively under pressure to resolve field escalations, staffing gaps, and day-of operational issues.

    • Ensures adherence to contractual obligations, service-level expectations, and organizational goals for the Maryland market.

Field Operations & Clinical Workforce Oversight

    • Provides direct leadership and supervision of field clinicians, including Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.

    • Coordinates scheduling and daily readiness of field units to ensure consistent, on-time coverage across the 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM operating window, 365 days a year.

    • Partners with clinical leadership to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery consistent with Care2U's High-Intensity Physician-Led Acute Care (HIPLAC) and Mobile Integrated Health protocols.

    • Supports credentialing, clearance, and onboarding of field staff in accordance with Maryland State EMS and organizational requirements.

    Dispatch & Logistics Oversight

    • Oversees the Dispatch team, ensuring accurate, timely assignment of field clinicians to patient encounters and effective queue management.

    • Oversees Logistics Technicians and fleet readiness, including vehicle stocking, supply inventory, and morning deployment of field units.

    • Ensures dispatch and logistics workflows align with field capacity, patient acuity, and service-level expectations.

    • Monitors real-time field deployment and partners with Dispatch and Logistics to minimize delays and maximize unit utilization.

    Regulatory & Compliance

    • Maintains current, working knowledge of Maryland State EMS operations, including MIEMSS regulations and licensure requirements applicable to ALS/MIH operations.

    • Supports maintenance of the agency's Maryland ambulance/MIH licensure in partnership with the Medical Director and QA Officer.

    • Ensures all field, dispatch, and logistics operations remain compliant with applicable state EMS regulations, HIPAA standards, and Care2U policy.

    • Partners with medical and quality leadership on protocol adherence, quality assurance, and readiness for state inspections or audits.

    Channel Partner Management

    • Serves as the primary operational liaison to partnered EMS agencies and other channel partners supporting the Maryland market.

    • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with partner agency leadership to support referral pathways, joint response protocols, and coordinated coverage.

    • Monitors partner agency performance and service alignment, addressing issues and ensuring consistency with Care2U's clinical and operational standards.

    • Represents Care2U in ongoing communication with EMS agency partners, REMSCOs, and other regional stakeholders relevant to partnered operations.

    Team Development

    • Establishes a culture of accountability, dependability, and adaptability across all supervised functions.

    • Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management for direct and indirect reports.

    • Builds scalable onboarding and training processes to support the growth of the Maryland market beyond initial launch.
