Governors Club is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and hands-on maintenance professional to join our team as the Assistant Director of Maintenance. This position plays an important role in the daily care, upkeep, safety, and operational readiness of our award-winning property while supporting the Director of Maintenance in the overall operation of the department.The Assistant Director will perform a variety of general maintenance and repair work while helping coordinate preventive maintenance, projects, contractors, departmental requests, and staff coverage. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, is willing to learn, and understands the importance of maintaining a high-quality environment for our members and employees.This is a full-time, nonexempt hourly position reporting to the Director of Maintenance.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance and repairs throughout Club facilities and property, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, mechanical, and finish work.Inspect Club buildings, equipment, fixtures, and amenities and proactively identify maintenance or repair needs.Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and assist with maintaining service records and schedules.Respond to maintenance requests from Club departments and help prioritize work based on operational needs.Assist with furniture movement, equipment installation, event needs, weather preparation, and other facility-related projects.Support the Director of Maintenance with outside contractors, vendors, repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.Help provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance team and serve as a point of contact when the Director of Maintenance is unavailable.Assist with maintaining clean, safe, organized, and professional maintenance shops, mechanical rooms, storage areas, and workspaces.Follow Club safety procedures and properly operate and maintain tools, equipment, ladders, lifts, and personal protective equipment.Oversee and participate in the Club's morning golf course security program, including scheduled weekend coverage, to help ensure the golf course and Club property are accessed only by authorized members, guests, employees, and approved individuals.Respond appropriately to urgent maintenance, safety, security, or facility concerns that may affect Club operations.Perform other maintenance-related duties and special projects as assigned.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related field.Working knowledge of several building trades, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC/refrigeration, painting, and mechanical systems.Ability to troubleshoot and complete routine repairs independently while recognizing when specialized assistance is needed.Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools and maintenance equipment.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively with minimal supervision.Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.Reliable, detail-oriented, coachable, and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Ability to work weekends, holidays, occasional evenings, and emergency situations as Club operations require.PreferredPrevious maintenance experience in a private club, hotel, resort, or other hospitality or commercial environment.Trade school, technical training, or certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, or another applicable trade.EPA Section 608, Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or similar relevant certification.Experience with HVAC systems, commercial kitchen equipment, pumps, motors, boilers, water heaters, or building control systems.Previous experience providing team leadership or coordinating contractors and maintenance projects.Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:Ability to push/lift 75 pounds Ability to safely climb and work from laddersBending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures Working around mechanical equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, and other normal facilities-maintenance environments.Reports To: Director of Maintenance Employee Benefits include:Paid Vacation and Sick Time Available to Full time employees after 90 days Accrued time may not be used until employee has completed six months of employmentHealth, Dental, Vision Insurance Available to employees averaging 30 or more hours per week after 90 days - Employee cost $7.50/weekly6 Paid Holidays Available to Full time employees after 90 days401k Retirement Plan All employees who complete 1000 hours in a plan year.
