    Description

    At Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, we believe exceptional care starts with exceptional people. As our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will be a cornerstone of our leadership team, ensuring that our nursing staff delivers the highest standard of care. You’ll help shape clinical practices, mentor emerging leaders, and foster a culture of empathy, excellence, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly influence patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and the overall quality of our healthcare services.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
    • Mentor and coach nursing supervisors and staff, fostering professional growth and clinical excellence.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care plans and outcomes.
    • Monitor staffing levels, manage scheduling, and support recruitment and retention efforts.
    • Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction scores and clinical performance metrics.
    • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to optimize care delivery.

    Requirements

    • Current RN license in Nevada required
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing BSN strongly preferred
    • Minimum one (1) year of direct psychiatric nursing experience required
    • Minimum three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience, ideally in behavioral healthcare settings
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in nursing care
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
    • A passion for mentoring and developing nursing talent
    • Ability to stabilize acute psychotic and non-violent crisis' by using accepted intervention techniques
