We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the clinical operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ADON assists in ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting nursing staff, and promoting a safe, resident-centered environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operations of the nursing department.
Supervise, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to ensure quality resident care.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, CMS, and facility regulations and standards.
Monitor resident care, documentation, and nursing practices to maintain quality outcomes.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
Assist with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Support survey readiness and participate in state and federal surveys, including implementing Plans of Correction (POCs) as needed.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized resident care plans.
Assist with infection prevention and control, risk management, and emergency preparedness activities.
Monitor staffing levels and help ensure appropriate nursing coverage.
Address resident, family, and staff concerns professionally and promptly.
Perform clinical duties and provide direct resident care as needed.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, MDS, care planning, infection prevention, and long-term care operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
