Description

A well-established Skilled Nursing Facility in Queens, NY is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join its leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) with the management of nursing operations and maintaining high-quality resident care.

  • Conduct weekly wound and skin rounds.

  • Support regulatory compliance and promote effective communication across all levels of the nursing team.

  • Ensure the nursing and medical needs of all residents are met.

  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.

  • Coordinate and direct the planning and delivery of nursing services.

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory, best practices, and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of resident medical records.

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orienting new nursing staff.

  • Oversee the daily staffing process.

  • Support and monitor infection prevention and control initiatives.

  • Maintain flexibility to address the changing needs of the facility and residents.

Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing setting.

  • At least 2 years of nursing management experience preferred.

  • Previous staff education or training experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and supervisory abilities.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
