Position Title: Director of Nursing
Location: Pittsburgh PA 15207
Duration: 3 months
Work Schedule: It would be mostly Monday – Friday daylight with rotational weekend coverage as needed.
Pay rate: $52.00-$55.88/hr.
Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Kane Community Center Administrator, the Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing all Nursing Department operations in accordance with Professional Nursing Law and applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Nursing Degree/Diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory skilled nursing experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to work beyond normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be available on call 24/7.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all Nursing Department operations.
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct resident rounds and provide direct nursing care when needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local LTC regulations.
- Lead Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Oversee infection prevention and control programs.
- Prepare for regulatory inspections and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate resident incidents and ensure resident safety.
- Serve as Administrator in their absence.
Required Knowledge
- Long-term care nursing practices and regulations.

- Participate in emergency response and resident evacuation when required.
Work Schedule
- Full-time.
- Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 24/7 on-call availability required.

Residency Requirement
- Must become an Allegheny County resident within one year of appointment.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experienced RN leader with strong Long-Term Care supervisory experience.
- Proven experience managing nursing operations, staffing, compliance, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
