Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in leading and managing nursing operations within a healthcare facility. This dynamic position involves collaborating with executive leadership to develop strategic plans, oversee staff supervision, and ensure compliance with state-specific education laws and healthcare regulations. The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for fostering a culture of excellence, implementing organizational policies, and enhancing patient care quality through effective team management and instructional leadership. Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in developing and executing strategic planning initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Oversee staffing schedules, personnel management, and staff supervision to ensure a motivated, well-trained nursing team.
• Manage the organizational budget, including resource allocation, cost control, and financial planning aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with all state-specific education laws, healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards governing nursing practice.
• Provide instructional leadership by mentoring nursing staff, facilitating ongoing education, and promoting professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with school administrative leaders to integrate healthcare policies into broader organizational strategies and educational programs.
• Lead efforts in quality assurance, risk management, and patient safety initiatives to uphold the highest standards of care delivery.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across all nursing departments.

Experience

• Proven management experience within a healthcare or educational setting, ideally in a leadership role such as School Administrative Director or equivalent.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, organizational budget management, and personnel management in education or healthcare environments.
• Extensive knowledge of state-specific education laws related to healthcare training programs or nursing education.
• Strong background in instructional leadership, academic oversight, and team management within educational or clinical settings.
• Experience working with diverse teams in fast-paced environments requiring excellent organizational skills and leadership acumen.
• Prior university or higher education experience is highly desirable for understanding complex educational frameworks and accreditation processes.
• Ability to lead with vision, inspire teams, and implement innovative solutions that enhance both staff development and patient care quality.
