Job Description

The Assistant Director of Recruitment for the Treasure Valley region provides strategic oversight, leadership, and coordination of recruitment efforts within one of Idaho State University's most active regional markets. Supervising two Admissions & Recruitment Coordinators (ARCs), this position ensures effective territory management, lead generation, and prospective-student engagement while supporting ISU's enrollment goals.

The Assistant Director will also serve as a recruitment liaison, developing expertise in assigned academic programs and training recruitment staff on academic offerings. This role includes limited travel, active participation in major recruitment events, and ongoing coordination with campus partners.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and strategic oversight for Treasure Valley recruitment. (35%)

  • Develop and manage regional recruitment strategy based on data, enrollment goals, and guidance from the Director of Marketing & Recruitment.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Recruitment leadership to develop and execute strategic communications tailored to the Treasure Valley and Kasiska Division of Health Sciences.
  • Assign ARC travel, outreach goals, and lead-management expectations; monitor performance and adjust strategies based on trends and results.
  • Build relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, professional organizations, and regional partners to strengthen ISU visibility and enrollment pipelines.

Supervise and develop ARC staff. (25%)

  • Directly supervise two Admissions & Recruitment Coordinators, providing training, performance coaching, accountability, and professional development.
  • Conduct team meetings, travel planning, and one-on-one check-ins; ensure effective outreach, communication, follow-up, customer service, and recruitment professionalism.
  • Support on-boarding and training as additional ARC positions are added.

Serve as a Recruitment Liaison. (20%)

  • Maintain expertise in assigned academic programs, including admissions requirements, prerequisites, career pathways, and advising considerations.
  • Train ARCs, Ambassadors, and recruitment staff on programs, best-fit student profiles, and competitive talking points.
  • Represent programs at recruitment events and presentations and attend department meetings to remain current on priorities and messaging.
  • Collaborate with department leadership, faculty, advisors, and staff to align recruitment strategies with program needs.

Participate in recruitment travel and outreach. (10%)

  • Travel to high schools, fairs, community colleges, and partner events; present to students, families, and counselors and support ARCs during peak travel and major regional events.

Support major enrollment and recruitment events. (10%)

  • Support Experience the Roar, Bengal Visit Day, Idaho Scholars, Academic Signing Days, Counselor Days, New Student Orientation, and other events through planning, staffing, follow-up, and University representation.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate CRM records; participate in team meetings and professional development; uphold ISU standards for professionalism and student-centered service; and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  2. At least two (2) years of experience engaging with high school or college students in educational, advisory, support, outreach, or mentorship roles, including but not limited to college admissions, academic advising, student recruitment, counseling, or other educational focused programs or services

  3. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  4. Experience working with different student groups

  5. Ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate staff

  6. Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed

  7. Knowledge of or willingness to learn health science program structures

  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and CRM tools

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's degree

  2. Experience in higher education recruitment or student services

  3. Supervisory experience

  4. Familiarity with ISU academic programs

  5. Experience with CRM Recruit, Slate, or similar systems

Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
