Theradynamics is committed to delivering outstanding rehabilitation services to enhance our patients' lives. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Director of Rehabilitation to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the management of rehabilitation operations, support the development of our clinical staff, and ensure that the highest standards of patient care are consistently met.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Orientation and training of rehabilitation personnel.
  • Completion of skills competency checklist for all rehabilitation staff.
  • Review and update Rehabilitation policy and procedures on a regular basis to ensure compliance with facility process and state/federal regulations.
  • Supervision of rehabilitation clinical and support staff within the facility. This includes:
  • Conducting Monthly Quality Assurance Reviews and Chart Audits on Active and Discharge rehabilitation patients
  • Staff informed of all deficiencies and chart completed as indicated
  • Progressive discipline plan developed for frequent non compliance
  • Quarterly Program Evaluation Reviews
  • Identify Rehab program evaluation areas
  • Collect program evaluation information
  • Develop action plan for all non-conforming areas
  • Weekly Management reports and Monthly Management reports which include:
  • Includes Therapy Productivities
  • Indirect Time analysis
  • Action Plan for Rehabilitation department
  • Reviewing referrals and discharges of Rehabilitation and Long-term care (Restorative) programming to evaluate service delivery and needs.
  • Facilitation of facility integration of rehabilitation services
  • Communication of rehabilitation service information to facility administrator including:
  • Rehabilitation programming: Restorative programming, In- servicing, Rehabilitation staff concerns and recommendations Monthly Management and Quality Assurance Report interpretation.
  • Program development activities (IE. Developing dining programs or Hip replacement critical pathways)
  • Referral patterns

Key Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience: Experience in customer-facing roles, particularly within healthcare or rehabilitation settings.
  • Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: Strong ability to identify issues and find practical, effective solutions while maintaining professionalism.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Able to maintain composure during stressful situations and demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Empathy & Listening: Ability to show compassion and a strong sense of empathy when working with patients and their families.
  • Leadership Capabilities: Experience leading teams or the desire to step into a leadership role and guide a team of rehabilitation professionals.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid NY State Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapist License
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physical / Occupational Therapy school
  • CPR Certification
