Oregon State University-Cascades invites applications for a combined full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, Assistant Director of Work-Integrated Learning and fixed-term Instructor position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs.
This position is located in Bend, Oregon.
The Assistant Director of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) supports the mission and strategic plans of the University and of OSU-Cascades as a member of the Career Design Center. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of OSU-Cascades Career Design Center and works closely with the Corvallis Career Development team.
As a member of the OSU-Cascades Career Design team, the Assistant Director of WIL supports the Cascades campus with visioning and implementing OSU-C’s Career Readiness and Work-Integrated Learning Strategy. This campus wide strategy is designed to expand and elevate career readiness opportunities for students through career readiness and work-integrated learning initiatives. Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) is an educational model that connects classroom learning to real-world professional experience through employer-partnered projects, applied coursework, and experiential opportunities embedded directly into academic programs.
The Assistant Director of WIL possesses a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth mindset, with creative energy and enthusiasm for coaching and training students, faculty, staff, student leaders and community partners; attention to detail; an eye for scalable implementation; and the ability to manage simultaneous priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach and instruct students through the arc of engaging in work-integrated and work-based career readiness opportunities at OSU-C.
Serve as a work-integrated learning subject matter expert to expand OSU-Cascades work-integrated learning community partner portfolio.
Collaborate with OSU-Cascades faculty and staff to implement work-integrated learning activities throughout the OSU-C curriculum to enhance student engagement and employability.
Support and collaborate with OSU-Cascades faculty and staff in their efforts to evaluate current industry, labor market, and employment trends to ensure curricular alignment with evolving professional standards and workforce demands.
