POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the day to day general operation of the laboratory working with the management staff to ensure adherence to department standards, metrics and regulatory compliance Collaborates with medical staff to facilitate optimal patient outcomes and overall operational efficiency within the scope of service. Promotes the University Health Customer Relations policy. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Masters degree in health care administration, business administration or other related field from an accredited college or university is strongly recommended. Minimum of five years of related, progressively responsible health care experience is required. LICENSURE Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required. Must maintain certification status in compliance with specifications for continuing education required by the certification agency.
