Position Title Assistant Director, Student Accounts and Receivables (BOE) Job Duties
The Assistant Director of Student Accounts and Receivables is delegated the duties involving the day-to-day operations of the department at Butler of El Dorado (BOE) with oversight by the Director. This involves a wide range of knowledge concerning accounts receivable in a higher education environment and is responsible for making decisions as required for the smooth and efficient operation of the department. This position supervises operational staff and student assistants performing tasks including cashiering, refunding, housing, and collections. This position is also delegated a wide range of responsibilities including the performance, maintenance and improvement of banking, web services, reconciliations, financial aid regulations, and analyzing student accounts.

Qualifications
Required knowledge and skills
A. Competency in the practical application of generally accepted accounting principles for colleges and governmental entities.
B. Knowledge of Kansas Statutes pertaining to the accounting and the internal controls required for Community Colleges.
C. Proficiency using computers and accounting software applications.
D. Strong supervisory skills
E. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and accuracy
F. Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory material
G. Ability to communicate effectively about technical accounting and financial matters to students, college employees, outside agencies and other interested parties.
H. Ability to communicate tactfully with students and stakeholders. Exhibit strong customer service skills with the ability to deal with difficult or disgruntled individuals.
Required experience
A. Minimum three years accounting experience.
B. Minimum two years accounts receivable experience.
C. Minimum two years experience in office procedures at a supervisory level.
D. Minimum two years experience with MS Office and integrated database systems.
Required educational background
Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. Emphasis in Accounting and Management preferred.
