RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director of the Welcome Center and Campus Visits is responsible for internal recruitment operations within the office of Admissions at Morehead State University. Performs all significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the admissions needs of the university. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing recruitment and enrollment services activities on campus including scheduling, planning, arranging of all details related to Open House events, campus visit programs, and all activities related to reception area on the Office of Admission. Incumbent is also for overseeing and supervising the Customer Service Coordinator (reception/front desk) as well as the Graduate Assistant, Staff Assistant, and the student Eagle Guide Team.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree, 4 years' experience in related field and valid driver's license required. Ability to lead teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High energy level and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others. Experience in computer applications, with the ability to generate and provide detailed reports on recruitment activities. Must have a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Higher education experience in admissions or related background preferred. A significant degree of tact and diplomacy will be needed to coordinate the duties and responsibilities with the overlapping of operational and administrative lines. Ability to prioritize while handling multiple issues.

Organizational Relationships
The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director, Undergraduate Admissions and supervises the Enrollment Services Specialist, Graduate Assistant and the Eagle Guide staff.

Working Conditions
Assistant Director of the Welcome Center and Campus Visits works with a minimum level of supervision. The position will often involve a highly stressful environment. The person holding this position must become familiar with all aspects of the campus community and must have the ability to make independent decisions but yet know when supervisory assistance is required. Decisions may be related to more complex matters within established policy and procedures and the decisions made by this position will affect the work of others in other departments. The effects of errors in judgment can be detrimental to students, and damage the reputation of the University, especially in the area of student enrollment. The Assistant Director of Admissions/Internal Operations will be expected to travel extensively and work irregular hours and including evenings and weekends.
