About the Role:
Canine Wellness Center in Closter, NJ is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Dog Trainer to join our growing team! This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about dogs and interested in building a career in dog training. You'll work alongside our professional trainers while helping care for dogs in our structured Day School program and learning positive, reward-based training techniques.


Responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily care and supervision of dogs in our Day School
• Support trainers during training sessions and enrichment activities
• Help facilitate small playgroups, walks, and structured learning exercises
• Monitor dog behavior and ensure a safe environment
• Maintain a clean and organized facility
• Learn and apply positive reinforcement training methods

Requirements:

• Passion for dogs and interest in pursuing a career in dog training
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Previous animal care experience is a plus, but not required
