About the Role:Canine Wellness Center in Closter, NJ is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic
Assistant Dog Trainer to join our growing team! This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about dogs and interested in building a career in dog training. You'll work alongside our professional trainers while helping care for dogs in our structured Day School program and learning positive, reward-based training techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily care and supervision of dogs in our Day School
- Support trainers during training sessions and enrichment activities
- Help facilitate small playgroups, walks, and structured learning exercises
- Monitor dog behavior and ensure a safe environment
- Maintain a clean and organized facility
- Learn and apply positive reinforcement training methods
Requirements:
- Passion for dogs and interest in pursuing a career in dog training
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Previous animal care experience is a plus, but not required
