Recycled and Purified Water Unit is hiring an Assistant Engineer. This position is critical to maintaining operational efficiency and project continuity supporting the implementation of the Pure Water Silicon Valley project.
Key responsibilities include assisting with Phase II of Oro Loma Horizontal Levee project, which is critical in addressing both the City and Regional Board concerns related to RO concentrate management, managing upcoming technical studies such as pipe loop study, and supporting site permitting and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Another responsibility is to assist with feasibility study for grant-funded project related to Water Recycling Program Feasibility Study.
Additional duties include contributing to direct potable reuse research, coordinating inter-agency efforts through the Water Tracker, and overseeing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), database management, and reporting. Filling this position is essential to ensuring that these critical projects remain on schedule and meet high standards of quality and collaboration. Without this support, there is a risk of project delays, and missed opportunities for effective inter-agency coordination and risk making a significant investment without a clear strategy for managing the RO concentrate.

Shall be familiar with principles of Civil/ Environmental Engineering, water quality parameters and water/wastewater treatment processes and recycled water production and also be able to work on developing engineering feasibility studies and reports. Have an understanding of the permitting and regulatory requirements related to recycled water and water reuse is desired. Be able to communicate clearly in oral and written forms.

Bachelor degree in Engineering.

Ability to pass Background, Drug Screen and if applicable Medical Screenings (i.e. Vision, Hearing, or Physical) if Required by Client.
